Filtering Solutions for Public Systems

Stable public systems provide strong support for continuous production in enterprises. The water, gas, and steam used in production must meet the cleanliness requirements of pharmaceutical processes, GMP, and relevant guidelines and regulations. They play a key role in ensuring product quality and meeting the requirements of sanitary-grade products. The pharmaceutical water systems in the biopharmaceutical industry need to undergo special treatment, including purified water, water for injection, sterilized water for injection, etc. In order to ensure the cleanliness of the plant and the absence of contamination during cell and tissue culture processes, gas needs to be sterilized and filtered, including sterile compressed air, sterile nitrogen gas supply systems, and sanitary-grade steam configuration systems. The following example will focus on pharmaceutical water.

Pharmaceutical Water Process

There are three main types of pharmaceutical water, namely purified water, water for injection, and sterilized water for injection.

  • Purified water: Water for pharmaceutical use that is produced by distillation, ion exchange, reverse osmosis, or other suitable methods, without any additives. It can be used as a solvent for preparing ordinary pharmaceutical preparations or as test water, but not for preparing injection preparations.
  • Injection water: Water purified and distilled for injection, also known as non-pyrogenic water. It is used as a solvent for preparing injection solutions.
  • Sterile injection water: Water obtained by sterilizing injection water, which is sterile and non-pyrogenic. It is mainly used as a solvent for sterilized powder for injection or as a diluent for injection solutions.
